Keep Pasco Beautiful has been participating in the Great American Cleanup since 1992. The Great American Cleanup in Pasco County is always the first Saturday in March, the next one will be on March 2, 2024.

This is a national event to promote shared community responsibility by picking up litter.  In 2023 780 people volunteered for 2,081 hours and picked up 14.48  tons of trash.  The Independent Sector values a volunteer hour at $29.95, which would put the volunteer cost benefit for this cleanup at $62,325.95.  There were 43 locations throughout Pasco County including Holiday, New Port Richey, Port Richey, Hudson, Land o' Lakes, Dade City and Wesley Chapel.  Keep Pasco Beautiful coordinated trash disposal and supplied trash bags, gloves, and t-shirts.

Cleanups are not just about picking up trash, they are also litter prevention.  Litter attracts litter so a clean space helps to prevent it.  Registration for the Great American Cleanup is closed. You do not need to wait for our next cleanup to have a positive impact.  You can pick up litter and trash anytime, just walk down your street or grab a few things in a parking lot.  It all adds up. Thank you all for doing your part to #KeepPascoWatersBeautiful .
